The Arts Council provides funding annually to 70 nonprofit arts & cultural organizations in Central Indiana on behalf of the City of Indianapolis. Since March, these organizations have suffered an average $8.6 million in financial losses per month due to venue closures and event cancelations caused by the pandemic. On Giving Tuesday (and beyond), we encourage you to support these organizations by giving a direct donation or buying tickets to the virtual and in-real-life events they are hosting throughout the holidays.
What: The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, the Penrod Society, Owl Music Group, and The Jazz Kitchen have joined forces to create a musicians relief fund to assist local jazz and related genre musicians who have had a direct loss of income through canceled or rescheduled performances.
What: The fund provides $1,000 emergency relief grants to artists and arts/culture workers in Central Indiana to help cover basic living expenses through the winter. Individual donations of any amount will be doubled by the Efroymson Family Fund Match Challenge.
Power Plant Emergency Grants, administered by Big Car Collective, supports visual artists who live, work, or run spaces in Indianapolis. To donate, please contact Big Car’s associate director, Elizabeth Nash.
